Christmas Air

We went out for our semi-traditional Gordon's Bay Christmas yesterday. It started out sunny, but deteriorated into a moody, windy day. But we had plenty to eat and still managed to get in the water for a snorkel. The highlight was seeing an octopus on prowl. Its eyes were about as big as a cat's and his body was probably as big as a mango or a large avocado - with the legs all spread out about as big as an extra-large pizza. Lots of other fish out too. There was a lot of wave action so the water was cloudy, but I think that's what brought out all the fish.

We got our ocean sport in just in time. It rained today, and it's not so good to go in right after a rain. We were planning to go see the start of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race, but it started raining so we settled for watching it on TV. Isn't it supposed to be summer here?
