Slogging through a great debate on Edge.com about using the web for education I found a mention of ThinkQuest. ThinkQuest is a website front-end of a competition, or project for schools all over the world. The idea of the competition is to create good webpages for learning things. The broader idea is to use the best and brightest kids, guided by their teachers, to create guided learning resources for other kids. The idea is so simple and beautiful at the basic level. It's pretty much the same idea as publishing the papers we all wrote while we were in school. It's a bit different, but the effect is similar: the kids doing it learn, the kids using it learn.

It's only when you start surfing around ThinkQuest that you realize how much there actually is to learn.
